About Us

THE IDEA

Our plan is to create a reliable digital platform for veterans to connect.  Those who have something to offer (havers) will be linked with those who have a requirement (needers).  All of us are both havers and needers.

In a crowded area this project has several unique characteristics:

  • It requires subscribers to join to maintain affinity
  • It measures the quality of connections ensuring the credibility of participants and outcomes
  • It is inclusive, a ‘network of networks’ that goes 'with the grain' of Government policy
  • Over time it will become wholly digitally enabled for ease of operation
  • The data generated will increase impact for subscribers
  • It will be moderated to answer the unanswerable and signpost solutions including charitable support

This is a not for profit subscription service not a charity.  It is designed to cultivate the bond that exists between all veterans, and to convert the hundreds of informal connections that are made between us into a powerful digital network.

Join us in building this community

Altogether, the Executive Board has over 200 years of military experience between us.

And, we want to keep adding to that...

Tx-NeT Executive Board

Our Purpose

Is to provide a safe place where we can all play a part in improving the lives of all who have left the Services – including your own.

Spencer Bull - Executive Board Member and Operations Manager

Spencer Bull served in the Army for 29 years and now has a passion for the Charity / Not For Profit sector. An innovative, resourceful and customer focussed leader. Motivated and versatile, with considerable experience in the command and care of the most vulnerable people. Motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference, solving complex problems with drive, empathy and determination. Strong ethics and balanced judgement.

Spencer not only speaks candidly about his transition from Army to veteran, he also tells his story of becoming a wheelchair user. And whilst this has its challenges, he does not let it limit him.

Athlete for Team UK INVICTUS Games 2022, Ambassador - Supporting Wounded Vets / H4H / Carer Support Wilts, Vets advocate for CanDiD Network, Trustee – Army Widows Association, Team UK Vice-Captain Invicuts Games 2018, to name but a few.

Abbie Pierce - Executive Board Member and Community champion

Serving 15 years in the Royal Navy, within two years of leaving the Service, had published two books and developed a flexible process to help others reclaim volition and learn to do it better with practice and coaching feedback. And has blogged weekly with a streak of over 3 years.

And all because she found passion and purpose: Her WHY is, to help people master the fear and practice the freedom to think differently. So that together, we can lead our World with integrity. How might you strive to become the leader you wish you had?

Always up to something, she’s the SME for networking in the veteran community: Co-founder of Leavers’ Link Virtual Networking, Veterans Advisory and Pension Committee Member and Regional Co-Ord for ASDIC.

Abbie's oddest moments of her career were, as a medic,  steering the warship she was serving on through the Suez Canal and completing the conning of the ship through a Williamson Turn – supervised, of course. And not while transiting the Suez Canal.

Nick Parker - Chairman

Nick Parker is the Tx-Net Executive Board Chairman and served in the Army for 40 years.

A versatile Senior Leader who has operated at Board level in the contemporary, complex, multi-national, multi-agency security environment overseas and at home. Since leaving the military, has continued to develop a particular interest in start-up enterprises run by highly motivated entrepreneurial teams.

John Middleton - Executive Board Member

A former RAF pilot and now a veteran, John currently holds the accolade of having been the longest serving member of the RAF for 52 years – so he certainly deserves that glass of bubbly.

Vast experience in Command and MOD staff duties. In his reluctant retirement he has a passion for motorbikes, classic cars, narrow boating and sailing.
With much fuel left in his tank John wishes to add value to the tri- service veteran community using his plethora of life and military skills. He has a vast portfolio of outreach and engagement with youth.

Garrath Williams - Executive Board Member

A veteran who served for 17 years in the British and Australian Army, but we don’t hold that against him, much. A diverse and often challenging career that fortunately allowed him to develop and lead teams around the world in a multitude of roles including peace keeping, disaster relief, civil support and combat operations.

Since leaving the Army he has utilised the skills learnt in the military to gain commercial experience working with a high-performance training company, in an experiential leadership development consultancy and in one of the oldest and most well respected public schools in the UK.

More recently working in the service charity sector with veterans and the wider military community to provide support to them finding purposeful employment after their service commitment has concluded. And now Director of Veteran Engagement & Development at JobOppO.
